Visual Basic has the following traits which differ from C-derived languages:

* Multiple assignment available in C language is not possible. A = B = C does not imply that the values of A, B and C are equalled. The boolean result of "Is B = C?" is stored in A. The result stored in A could therefore be false(0) or true(-1)
* Boolean constant True has numeric value −1.[3] This is because the Boolean data type is stored as a 16-bit signed integer. In this construct −1 evaluates to 16 binary 1s (the Boolean value True), and 0 as 16 0s (the Boolean value False). This is apparent when performing a Not operation on a 16 bit signed integer value 0 which will return the integer value −1, in other words True = Not False. OPTION BASE was introduced by ANSI, with the standard for ANSI Minimal BASIC in the late 1970s.

Di babak final yang berlangsung di Stadium Pierre De Coubertin, Nova/Butet tidak menemui kesulitan untuk mengalahkan rekan senegara, Hendra AG/ Vita Marissa. Nova/Butet menang 21-17 21-7 hanya dalam 20 menit.

Nova/Butet dan Hendra/Vita sukses menciptakan All Indonesian Final setelah di semifinal mengalahkan lawan-lawan mereka dari China. Nova/Liliyana mengalahkan He Hanbin/Yu Yang 25-27 21-14 21-17, sementara Hendra AG/Vita Marissa menang atas tao Jiamin/Zhang Yawen 22-20 21-17.

Kido/Hendra yang merupakan unggulan pertama mengalahkan unggulan kedua dari Malaysia, Tan Boon Heong/Koo Kien Keat dalam rubber game 15-21 21-15 21-14. ganda utama dunia ini menang adalam 39 menit.

Namun kemenangan ini bukan hal yang mudah buat peraih medali emas Olimpiade Beijing 2008 ini. Di game pertama, Koo/Tan tampil menekan dan unggul 21-15.

Di game kedua, Kido/Hendra menemukan kembali bentuk permainan asli mereka . Kido kemudian lebih banyak beroperasi di belakang dengan melancarkan pukulan-pukulan smash yang keras ke arah para pemain Malaysia. Pasangan Indonesia ini merebut game kedua dengan angka serupa 21-15.

Kido/Hendra kemudian melanjutkan dominasi pada game ketiga. Mereka terus unggul dalam pengumpulan poin, hingga akhirnya menang rubber game 15-21 21-15 21-14.

Dalam final yang berlangsung di stadium Pierre de Coubertin, Minggu (1/11), Taufik menyerah dalam dua game saja 6-21 15-21 dalam 38 menit saja.

Di game pertama, Lin Dan mendikte Taufik lewat permainan cepat dan keras. Setelah tertinggal 0-7, Taufik merebut poin pertamanya. Akhirnya Taufik yang diunggulkan di posisi empat ini kalah 6-21 di game pertama.

Di game kedua, Taufik mencoba mengimbagi permainan lawannya. Ia mencoba mengadang bola-bola Lin Dan melalui pukulan silang atau pun permainan di depan net. Namun Lin Dan mampu menutup game kedua 21-15 dan menamatkan perlawanan Taufik dalam 38 menit.
